Admissions
We maximise the academic achievements of every single girl without selecting on the basis of academic assessment. We don’t believe assessments of very young children are meaningful, do not wish to make the application process stressful for children or parents, and enjoy and benefit from the range and variety of children in our school, with their different strengths.
For Nursery (3+) and Reception (4+) admissions, offers are made without the need to meet the child.
The process for occasional vacancies (Y1+) includes – where possible – a taster day; this allows us to ensure the candidate is a good fit with the existing cohort and that we can meet her needs. Equally, it is an opportunity for her to experience a normal school day and to make friends before joining: there are no exams, the day is generally so much fun that our visitors don’t want to go home! They then have plenty to tell their parents, who pick them up at the end of the day, having had a meeting with Mrs Lombard.
The care and experience of our staff and the inclusiveness and friendliness of both adults and children ensures that new pupils arriving at any age are warmly welcomed and settle happily into their new school.
The first step in the admissions process is to register your daughter, which you can do here. Applications are considered in the order in which registrations were made, with siblings being given priority whenever possible.
We encourage you to visit the school; you can come on an open morning tour or arrange to look round privately if the timing of the open days does not suit.
We look forward to meeting you! If you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to ask.
