Out There

Out there!

Outdoor learning

At The Cavendish School, we believe learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our Out There! programme enriches the curriculum through regular outdoor learning experiences, making full use of both our central London location and the natural environment of nearby Regent’s Park.

Through outdoor education, educational visits and hands-on experiences, girls are encouraged to explore, question and engage actively with the world around them. We also organise regular trips to galleries, museums and exhibitions across London, giving pupils access to the city’s exceptional cultural and educational opportunities.

Outdoor learning is an important part of school life at Cavendish and every girl participates. These experiences support both academic development and personal growth, helping pupils build confidence, resilience and independence in meaningful real-world settings.

Through the programme, girls benefit from opportunities to:

  • Take part in high-quality outdoor learning experiences and carefully risk-assessed activities;
  • Develop curiosity, reflective thinking and practical problem-solving skills;
  • Build resilience, adaptability and independence;
  • Deepen their appreciation of nature, sustainability and the environment;
  • Strengthen teamwork, collaboration and communication skills;
  • Grow in confidence and self-esteem through outdoor challenges and shared experiences.

By embracing the opportunities offered by our local environment and wider London setting, The Cavendish School creates rich and memorable learning experiences that inspire curiosity, wellbeing and a lifelong love of discovery.

There is an ethos of kindness and respect in this school which is actively encouraged.
